    GEINTRA Synthetic Depth People Detection Dataset

     

    Introduction

    The GESDPD (GEINTRA Synthetic Depth People Detection) dataset is a synthetic depth dataset generated simulating a depth camera acquisition from a frontal position (slightly above people average depth) and was designed to fulfill the following objectives: 

    • Allow the training and evaluation of people detection and tracking based on data generated by ToF cameras placed in frontal positions.
    • Provide quality data to the research community in people detection and identification tasks.

    The people detection task (and the data provided) can also be extended to practical applications
    such as video-surveillance, access control, people flow analysis, behaviour analysis or event capacity
    management.

    Simulated scenario

    The synthetic data was generated in an scenario built using blender, and is shown below.
